Southern Lifestyle Development (“SLD”) was formed out of a desire by its principals to change the way real estate should be developed. Its primary mission is to build communities that celebrate lifestyle by introducing components that elevate quality of life. Its inaugural entry into the world of real estate development is the nationally acclaimed Village of River Ranch, one of the most well-known and successful smart growth communities in the nation. Building on the success of River Ranch, SLD is currently developing several smart growth, mixed-use communities throughout the State of Louisiana and Mississippi. Recognizing that mixed-use elements could not always be incorporated into certain sites, SLD is developing more conventional communities that nonetheless incorporate lifestyle elements such as walkability, recreational features parks and open spaces; communities that change the way people live.
SLD was formed by Robert Daigle, Rodney Savoy and Robert Gagnard, the original developers of The Village of River Ranch. Currently, SLD has thirty communities under various stages of development throughout the State of Louisiana.
Robert W. Daigle is the managing partner of River Ranch Development Company, the developer of The Village of River Ranch, a 320-acre traditional neighborhood development in Lafayette, Louisiana and the managing partner of Sugar Mill Pond Development Co., the developer of Sugar Mill Pond, a 500 acre traditional neighborhood development in Youngsville, Louisiana. The Village of River Ranch is the recipient of the American Planning Association President's Award for the most outstanding planned project in Louisiana and the American Institute of Architects 2000 award for outstanding master plan. He holds a Juris Doctor degree from Louisiana State University and was a practicing attorney from 1975 to 1996 representing developers, building contractors, architects, and engineers in commercial and residential construction matters as well as planning and zoning issues. He lectures frequently on construction and land use issues to attorneys, contractors, developers and municipal planning and zoning officials and staff members.
Rodney Savoy is a Financial Managing Member of SLD, and Managing Partner of RR Company of America, LLC (the parent company of Southern Lifestyle Development, LLC), a diverse holding company that has majority ownership interests in real estate development, commercial and multi-family residential rental real estate, property management, a restaurant development company, and other various smaller business investments. Rodney has been involved in the financial management and development of River Ranch and Sugar Mill Pond since their inception. He was a practicing CPA for twenty-five years, primarily focused in business management and consulting, when he retired from active practice in 1996 to pursue real estate developments and other business interests including development of blood plasma collection companies with locations across the United States. After multiple sales of various plasma companies, Rodney retired from the plasma business in 2010. He ventured into the restaurant business – first with City Club at River Ranch (private health club/tennis complex/restaurant) in 2002, followed by the opening of their first Romacelli Bistro e Vino restaurant in 2007 (now operating in two locations with plans to expand into six additional SLD developments). In 2011, he and Robert Gagnard formed Double R Restaurant Group and expanded the restaurant portfolio to become the largest franchisee of Another Broken Egg Cafes with 26 locations throughout the Southeast United States. In 2015, Double R partnered with POUR Restaurant & Bar (currently in River Ranch and expanding into five additional SLD developments).
Robert Gagnard is a Founding Partner in RR Company, River Ranch Development, Sugar Mill Pond and Southern Lifestyle Development. His background is in medical technology and business management. Robert was responsible for developing and operating over 125 blood plasma collection centers throughout the United States, through several companies. After several company sales, retired from active participation in plasma center businesses in 2010. He is now actively involved in creativity of developments, marketing and high level management. Robert seeks new opportunities for RR Company and its affiliate.
Michael Guidroz joined the RR Company team in 2013 as the Chief Operating Officer. He has an extensive financial background with past positions at Iberia Bank, Whitney Bank and Business First Bank.
Kevin Blanchard, attorney and former Public Works Director for the Lafayette City-Parish government, carries the duty of Chief Operations Officer. As COO, Blanchard provides overall leadership and daily oversight of SLD activities, under Daigle's direction.
Prescott Bailey is Southern Lifestyle Development’s Area President. Prescott graduated with a degree in Financial Economics from the University of Virginia. Before joining SLD Prescott worked with various real estate development companies that focused on assisted living, multi-family housing, student housing and hospitality. Prescott joined SLD in 2010 and after 5 years of helping with the expansion of SLD, Prescott opened Southern Lifestyle Development’s second office in Baton Rouge, La. Prescott now develops and manages SLD’s properties in the eastern half of Louisiana out of SLD’s Baton Rouge office.
Teddy Beaullieu is the Director of Operations and Commercial Real Estate, overseeing all post-construction activity, neighborhood activities, and commercial real estate matters in SLD's several developed traditional neighborhoods.
Jeff Foshee is the Director of Planning and Engineering, helping push new projects from the feasibility into the design phase, as well as providing leadership for SLD's in-house engineering group.
